As a leader in the field of child and family well-being, NWCF ensures that your legacy gift makes the most significant impact possible. There are several options for making your legacy gift to NW Children’s Foundation:
Beneficiary
List NWCF as a beneficiary of your Donor Advised Fund, IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or other retirement or brokerage account, or life insurance policy.
Bequests
Make a bequest in your will or living trust naming NWCF as the recipient of a testamentary gift.
We recommend that you talk to your financial advisor or lawyer about crafting or modifying the language in your will. See below for sample bequest language.
We would love to know if you are making a legacy gift to NW Children’s Foundation.

Sample Bequest Language
Here are some sample provisions and helpful information for you and your advisor to craft the language for your gift. We encourage you to consult your attorney, accountant, or financial advisor to help determine what type of gift is best for you.
With a specific bequest you can stipulate a percentage of your estate, a dollar amount, or specific assets, be given to NW Children’s Foundation. Examples may include:
- “I give $______ to NW Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit located at 2100 24th Ave South, Suite 320; Seattle, WA 98144, for its general charitable purposes.”
- “I give ____% of my estate to NW Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit located at 2100 24th Ave South, Suite 320; Seattle, WA 98144, for its general charitable purposes.”
- “I give the following described property to NW Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit located at 2100 24th Ave South, Suite 320; Seattle, WA 98144, for its general charitable purposes. [describe property]”
With a residuary bequest, you can state that all, or a portion, of the estate be given to NW Children’s Foundation after specific gifts are distributed to other beneficiaries. Examples of this language may include:
“I give all of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to NW Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit located at 2100 24th Ave South, Suite 320; Seattle, WA 98144, for its general charitable purposes.”
