Join others in our community to help end the cycle of child abuse
and neglect. When you participate as a guest, volunteer or sponsor
at one of our events, you make a meaningful difference for kids
and families all around the Puget Sound.
Bringing our community together to build a brighter future for children!
Full of energy and heart, Together, the NW Children’s Fund Gala & Auction on April 30, brought together a host of people eager to improve the lives of at-risk children and families. The evening’s lively bidding and heartfelt giving raised $650,000 in support of our collective effort to end the cycle of child abuse and neglect. With more than 450 generous guests in attendance – and more than 200 gracious item donors – it was certainly a night to remember; a night dedicated to making a difference for vulnerable kids in our community!
Chef John Howie for the incredible dinner and to emcee Dave Ross and auctioneer John Curley for keeping us laughing and raising our paddles all evening long. Thank you to the young dancers from New Islands United Roots and Spectrum Dance Theatre, who opened the evening with a fiery dance performance. Thanks also to DeShawn Shead of the Seattle Seahawks, who offered a warm welcome and shared his personal story with guests.
A special thank you goes to our Fund-a-Need speaker Demetria Roundtree, “mother of four, survivor and warrior,” who was able to break the cycle of childhood trauma with the help of NWCF-supported programs. All funds raised during Fund-a-Need will be granted this spring to effective agencies providing life-changing services to at-risk youth and fragile families. We are very grateful to our battalion of volunteers, who made the event run smoothly, and our generous Gala Sponsors. This year, DeShawn Shead joined Leschi Elementary students in thanking our Gala Sponsors in an extraordinary way: Click here to see our special thank you video.
If you weren’t able to join us for the Gala this year, you can still help us support our community’s at-risk kids and vulnerable families. Your donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated.
The 2017 NW Children’s Fund Gala & Auction is set for Saturday, April 29, and will once again take place at the stunning Fremont Studios. Mark your calendars!
